Walter the Halloween Hedgehog
Yes Virginia, there really are Halloween Hedgehogs. And here are the photos of my daughter’s hedgehog Walter to prove it!
Walter the Hedgehog is pretty darn adorable
I pretty much have to give my daughter full credit for everything in this post. Walter is her hedgehog, the witch’s hat that Walter is wearing was made by her, and these photos were taken by her with her camera.

Hedgehogs seems to be the perfect pet for dressing up in hats, especially for Halloween. Apparently, hedgehogs in hats is a thing, and you can find photos of them all over the internet. Take a look at this Pinterest page, and you’ll see what I mean.

Walter’s pointy hat goes with his pointy spines
Perhaps because their spines are so pointy, I think that hedgehogs look particularly adorable in pointy hats.
Walter the Hedgehog is ready for Halloween
My daughter has actually made about three different styles of hats for Walter the Halloween Hedgehog, but this one is my favorite. Some very thin elastic cord that goes under Walter’s chin keeps the hat from falling off.
