A simple but striking arrangement of flowering branches
Happy Spring to you! A few days ago, I went out in my yard with my hand pruning shears and came back with cuttings from my redbud tree, forsythia bush, and ornamental cherry tree. What resulted were these stunning flowering branch cuttings in a vase.

Go ahead and get creative for vases when displaying your spring flowers
I call it a “vase,” in this arrangement, but it’s really a ceramic teapot that I’ve used many times for holding cut flowers.

Try using a teapot as a vase
Don’t be afraid to try different receptacles for floral displays, such as your seldom-used teapots, pretty recylced jars, or even wine bottles.

On my kitchen table
I really love making informal arrangements like this one, using just my sense of intuition as to what colors to combine and how to place the various branches.

Welcome spring by bringing some of it into your home and making a simple but striking floral arrangement!

Bring some springtime inside!
Ah, spring…the perfect time of year for an arrangement of flowering branch cuttings in a vase.

What a beautiful arrangement! At my last house I use to have plenty of cut flowers and flowering shrubs, but here in our new house I am working towards getting some planted over the next few years. I love having fresh cut flowers.
Hi Linda and thank you! Yes, fresh cut flowers are the best!

How pretty these are, and what a great idea! Unfortunately, though, I only have a Bradford Pear tree in my yard that flowers, and I’m guessing the neighbors wouldn’t want me lurking around their flowering bushes with a pruning shears. Still, I do like this look.
Hi Pattie, and yes, that might look a bit suspicious! Thanks for commenting!
