Baileys Hot Cocoa Coffee

January 17, 2016 4 Comments

Baileys and hot cocoa pair up beautifully to make a spiked coffee drink

Baileys and hot cocoa pair up

Baileys Hot Cocoa Coffee…wintertime is the perfect time for a cozy and spiked drink like this! Baileys Original Irish Cream liqueur is the star in this drink, along with hot cocoa mix, milk, and of course, coffee.

The hot cocoa mix shown here was a part of a gift basket that I recently received, but any cocoa mix or hot chocolate mix of your preference will work just fine.

I do use milk instead of water, though, to enhance the flavor and richness.

Garnish your spiked hot cocoa with extra treats on a martini pick

To jazz up the presentation and taste just a bit, I added some mini marshmallows and moonshine maraschino cherries to a long martini pick and set it across the lip of the mug. Pretty, don’t you think? A short wooden skewer would work here too, I bet. Not only do the cherries add some vivid color, but they really complement this Baileys hot cocoa coffee. If you don’t have any moonshine cherries, regular maraschino cherries would be wonderful too.

Baileys Hot Cocoa Coffee is a perfect winter hot toddy

BHCC, oh yeah…

The mug shown here is huge–20 ounces. For the portions below, I recommend using an 18-ounce size mug or larger. If you don’t have a really big mug, then just reduce the amount of milk and coffee a little.

Here’s the recipe:

I have yet to make a single cup of cocoa this season, so I am way past due. This looks delicious, and after the day I had I certainly deserve the Irish Cream…I mean cocoa.
