Sweater swing skirt returns with boots for fall!
Some of you may remember when I featured this sweater swing skirt in a post earlier this past summer, and in that post, I mentioned how I’d like to try wearing this skirt with boots for fall…

Swing skirt highlights tall boots
…so here you go! It’s Wednesday, it’s fall, and the Wroot Wore a sweater swing skirt and tall boots!

Sweater skirt and tall boots are perfect for fall
This style of skirt goes perfectly with tall boots, and the whole look is still conservative enough to be appropriate at the office.

I paired the skirt with a black short sweater top, which highlights the style and look of the sweater skirt and allows the skirt to swing freely.

I mentioned in my earlier post how I immediately fell in love with the heavy knit “sweater” material of this skirt by Chelsea & Theodore, which has an elastic waist. The material hangs, lies, and swings so nicely.

Tall boots by Franco Sarto look fabulous
And don’t you dig the boots? I found these on a sales table at Marshall’s and couldn’t resist, even though they were a half-size too big.

Use short socks for boots a bit too big!
Here’s a great tip: sometimes it’s actually better to buy your boots a little big, and then do what I did here, which is put on some shorter socks and wear them over (or under) your hose or tights before zipping up your boots. No one will be the wiser and your feet will stay warmer during the cooler months when you’re outside! Plus, the cottony material of the socks helps absorb any foot moisture and adds to your overall comfort while wearing boots.

Leg lifts in sweater skirt and boots
These tall boots have a pretty high heel, but are still comfortable. I realize that low-heeled riding style tall boots are as popular as ever this year, but for some reason I’ve never liked them on me. Perhaps because I have a longer torso and shorter legs, tall boots with a higher heel seem to be more flattering on me.

Positively Adorable! Your skirt is so pretty and I love the way it swings. Great pairing with your tall black boots. Oh, and I am with you on buying boots a little larger for plenty of sock room. 🙂

And I’m glad you didn’t go for lower heeled riding boots. These high-heeled ones are perfect! 🙂
