Know what the Wroot wore Wednesday? This Open Road Stone Washed maxi skirt by POL! I absolutely love the velvety feel and drape of this maxi skirt! And the best part?

I found it on sale for five dollars! I just love it when I find steals like this! You might remember when I modeled a fringed vest made with the same type of fabric by POL here.

On the same shopping trip at the same Gabes store, I also found the big plaid tunic shirt modeled here. The shirt, by Polly & Esther (don’t you love that brand name?!) has a relaxed fit that I think complements the easy flow and length of the maxi skirt.  I’m wearing the tunic shirt over a belted cotton tee. Belting adds a finished look to the outfit, and helps define the waist.

And yes, on that same shopping trip, I found this adorable little brim hat by Nollia. I couldn’t resist wearing it for this shoot!

I want to thank my older daughter, who is visiting me this week, for taking these “What the Wroot Wore” photos–we had so much fun during this shoot in the gorgeous spring weather!

My vintage Nola block heel sandals by Pesaro paired up perfectly with the maxi skirt and outfit, don’t you think?

So lovely! I love what you’ve done with the bright shirt and belt then a nice open buttoned shirt over it! Perfect layering!!
