Know what the Wroot wore Wednesday? An inexpensive but perfect maxi dress. Recently, my good friend sent an invitation to “The Ginger and Guest” to attend her summer wedding and dinner reception that followed. A few days later, I came across this maxi dress from Apt 9, on sale at Kohl’s for $20.00…
Now here’s a confession: I’ve never owned a maxi dress before this one! I suppose it’s because most of the ones I’ve tried on were too long. Plus, I don’t really go places when and where a maxi dress would be suitable, at least for me.
But for this wedding? This dress? The maxi dress stars aligned, and it worked! The dress was short enough not to need hemming, and the hot weather was perfect for a summery lightweight maxi. I paired the dress with my aqua crocheted bolero jacket that I wore in another post recently, but the dress looks great sans jacket also.
Since my sister was visiting from California, I decided to ask her to accompany me, and she was kind enough to go as The Ginger’s guest! We had a smashing time!
As you know, this post is for What the Wroot Wore Wednesday. Okay, you probably already figured it out. “Who the heck gets married on Wednesday?!” you ask. Okay, I have another confession: the Wroot wore this maxi not on Wednesday, but rather Sunday. So now you know! If this fact truly bothers you, then I suggest that you go make and drink one of my awesome margaritas featured here, here, or here. After you imbibe in one or two of those babies, I’m pretty sure that you won’t be troubled anymore by this post!
Pictured above are the various cheesecakes offered at the wedding reception, including strawberry, white chocolate, amaretto, and lemon…decisions, decisions….
And here’s a photo taken just before the wedding party sat down. Isn’t this room lovely?
And isn’t my sweet sister lovely too?!
