I wear petite sizes, and I try to buy clothes small enough so that I don’t have to pay extra to have them altered. But when I found this sleeveless blazer at Marshall’s that was a little too big under the arms and through the waist, I bought it anyway, because I could tell the cost of alteration would be worth it.
That’s because this sleeveless blazer is such a versatile piece for the office, and can be layered over different tops, from the cotton long-sleeved tee modeled here, to a turtleneck sweater for colder weather, to a short-sleeved blouse for warmer weather. I think it looks great with pencil skirts, like this patterned pencil skirt by Nicole Miller, don’t you?
To dress up the long-sleeved tee and make this outfit look more polished, I added a thrifted silk black and white polka dot scarf and a collar necklace from Target.
I’ve found the collar necklace to be a really fun and feminine piece to wear with collared shirts and blouses too.
Sleeveless blazer by Daniel Rainn purchased at Marshall’s (sold out, but similar here and here), thrifted silk polka dot scarf (similar), collar necklace by Target (similar), cotton long-sleeve tee by Sonoma (similar), black suede pumps by Sam Edelman (similar), patterned pencil skirt by Nicole Miller (similar), wide stretch belt (similar).
