This is my review of Tazo Chai Latte, and I’m giving it 5 stars out of 5, oh yeah, baby. I’m just wondering how I passed by all those Tazo Chai Latte cartons in the grocery aisle for so long, and didn’t realize what a good thing I was missing out on. On a recent snow day home (you can sort of see the snowy landscape in the background), I finally had my first Tazo Chai Latte, and was totally wowed, just like the cat on my cute mug.
My decision to purchase a carton of the Tazo Latte came about after I saw this recipe by Pam Greer at Sidewalk Shoes–Pam’s recipe uses Tazo Latte to create a yummy-looking pumpkin spice chai panna cotta. I haven’t tried Pam’s recipe yet, but she has numerous panna cotta recipes on her site, so you might want to check them out!
Anyway, this wonderful drink is about as easy as it gets. Just mix equal parts Tazo Chai Latte and milk. The back of the carton recommends trying it hot or cold. I look forward to enjoying Tazo Chai Latte over ice this coming summer.
I mixed mine up in this cute bone china mug by Roy Kirkham, and then heated it in the microwave for a couple of minutes. That’s it! How does it taste? There’s the black tea, of course, liberally spiced with cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, and vanilla, and then sweetened with just the right amount of honey and sugar. The milk that you will mix in tames the distinct and peppery spices for the perfect balance.
The front of Tazo’s carton indicates that its Chai Latte has 46 to 60 mg of caffeine per serving, so you might want to drink it earlier in the day, maybe for breakfast or as a pick-me-upper in the early afternoon. I didn’t see it at my store, but Tazo makes a decaf version too.
And please, go ahead and pull out your favorite “nice” or china mugs to enjoy your latte. I think that we so often “save” our nice dishes, clothes or jewelry, and thereby miss out on the pleasure these cherished things give us. After all, who or what are we saving them for? Use them and savor them in everyday life, I say!
Pictured here is the opposite side of my Roy Kirkham cat mug, given to me as a birthday gift years ago from my dear parents. So whimsical and cheery, don’t you think?
I hope you’ll give this Tazo Chai Latte a try. You can find it at Walmart, Kroger, and many other groceries. Walmart keeps it next to the coffee and teas. Other Tazo latte flavors include vanilla caramel, chocolate, and pumpkin spice. Based on the ingredients listed on my carton, Tazo Chai Latte should be gluten free.
In case you were wondering, I have no association with Tazo and received no compensation or other incentive from Tazo to write this review.
My rating of Tazo Chai Latte: 5 stars out of 5.
