I’ll sing it right now: I’m in Love with a Monster Martini!
Thanks to those ladies at Sam’s Club who were handing out teeny tiny plastic cups of Monster Mean Bean Java Coffee and Monster Loca Moca Java Coffee drinks, I found what turned out to be a unique and easy mixer for a scary good cocktail. By the way, these two Monster coffee flavors come together in a package you can find here at Sam’s Club.
I’m christening this cocktail “The Monster Martini.” While Googling to see if there were any other such cocktails (I didn’t find any), I did come across this wickedly fun and funny video by Fifth Harmony singing their song “I’m in Love with a Monster.”
Isn’t it the perfect song to play while enjoying this unique and fabulous drink?
The Monster Martini is made with just three ingredients. The first is either Mean Bean Java Coffee drink by Monster or Loca Moca Java Coffee Drink by Monster. The second is vodka. And the third ingredient is just a bit of heavy cream or half-and-half. Which Monster flavor did I prefer? Hmm…they were both wonderful, but I think I preferred the Mean Bean with its more distinct coffee flavor.
Combine these three ingredients in a shaker filled halfway with ice, shake, and then strain into a chilled martini glass.
To fancy up this cocktail a little, I dipped the rim of the martini glass in water first, then dipped the rim in some regular table sugar. The sugared rim is totally optional, but I think it gives an added oomph to the presentation.
I’m in love with a Monster Martini. You might be too, after you try it! Here’s the printable recipe:
- 5 ounces of Mean Bean Java Coffee drink by Monster, or Loca Moca Java Coffee Drink by Monster,
- 1 ounce vodka
- 2 teaspoons heavy cream or 1 tablespoon half-and-half
- Ice for shaking
- Optional: 2 teaspoons table sugar for rim of glass
- Place martini glass in freezer to chill.
- Fill cocktail shaker halfway with ice.
- Add either Mean Bean Java Coffee drink by Monster, or Loca Moca Java Coffee Drink by Monster, vodka, and cream (or half-and-half) to shaker.
- Shake for 30 seconds
- Pull glass out of freezer.
- If rimming glass with sugar, then dip edge of rim in saucer filled with water and then in a separate saucer that holds the table sugar.
- Strain contents of shaker into glass.
I received no payments, samples or other incentives, financial or otherwise, from Sam’s Club or Monster Energy for mentioning them in this post (okay, except for those two free sips from those teeny tiny cups handed out by the Sam’s Club ladies…).
