Jack Daniels Honey Bourbon Sweet Tea

Jack Daniels Honey Bourbon Sweet Tea

Warm weather and summertime aren’t the only times to enjoy iced tea, especially when citrus, like limes, is in full season. That’s why today I’m bringing you my Honey Bourbon Lime Sweet Tea recipe.

Boozy bourbon and lime sweet tea

Boozy bourbon and lime sweet tea

The name reveals its only three ingredients: honey bourbon, lime juice, and bottled sweet tea.

Honey bourbon with bottled sweet tea and lime juice....perfect...

Honey bourbon with sweet tea….perfect…

I used Jack Daniels label Honey Bourbon (one ounce for a serving)….

Bottled sweet tea is a fast alternative to simple syrup and unsweet tea.

…and Arizona brand bottled sweet tea (four to five ounces for a serving), but any brand will do.  You can also use an unsweet tea, bottled or not, and add an ounce or two of simple syrup, or artificial sweetener if you’re watching carbs and/or calories…

…then add freshly squeezed lime juice (one ounce for a serving). That’s it! The citrus and sharpness of the lime offsets the sweet of the honey and tea beautifully. Here’s the recipe:

Hi Shellie, I am too! Not sure I’d drink it with the bourbon every single day, just because there are so many other great cocktails to try too! Thanks so very much for commenting!

Just a side note…it’s glaring and bothersome to read a recipe for a BOURBON drink made with Tennessee’s Jack Daniels WHISKEY!!!
This drink should correctly be called, Honey Whiskey Lime Tea. Or better yet, add a BOURBON honey like Evan Williams Honey or Jim Beam Honey or Wild Turkey Honey. (There are many more from which to choose)
THEN you can enjoy your Honey BOURBON Lime Tea.

Hi Jody, and so sorry my post got you all bothered! And you’re correct, actually! I found this recent post at http://www.huffingtonpost.com/michelle-pruett/whiskey-bourbon-scotch-ry_b_9548538.html, which gives a succinct explanation of the differences between whiskey, bourbon, scotch, and rye. Whatever its name, I hope you’ll finally be able to relax and chill out with a big glass of this fabulous tasting Honey Bourbon Lime Sweet Tea.

At least where I live, in the southeastern U.S., you can find it at any decently-sized liquor store. Hope you like it, Lydia!
