I like being surrounded by striking plants and beautiful flowers in my home and yard, but I don’t have the patience or energy to invest too much time into gardening. That’s why I’ve been so pleased with this Huechera Coral Bells plant. Huechera is a fab shade perennial that flowers for months.
I planted two of these Heuchera Coral Bells last spring, one in each planter on either side of my front door. I left them in the planters outside all winter, and pretty much ignored them as far as care, fertilizing, or watering goes. This spring, their foliage is as striking as ever, and their pretty deep pink flowers on colorful stems came back in full force.
And yes, Heuchera Coral Bells are shade-loving plants, although based on what I’ve read, they’ll tolerate some sun too. My Heucheras are planted on the north side of my house, and they get no direct sun at all, and yet they’ve flourished. What more could a busy gal who likes her flowering plants ask for? You can find a nice and concise summary about Heuchera Coral Bells at the Better Homes and Gardens site here. The site at Heucheras.com reveals some of the gorgeous colors of the different varieties’ foliage.
