Chambord Margarita

A splash of Chambord liqueur enhances a standard shaken lime margarita on the rocks

  • For the lime sugar salt mixture:
  • zest from one large lime or two small limes
  • 1 Tablespoon salt
  • 1 Tablespoon sugar
  • For the drink:
  • 1 ounce Chambord liqueur
  • 2 ounces tequila
  • ½ ounce triple sec
  • 1 ounce lime juice
  • 1 and ½ ounces simple syrup, or to taste
  • ice for shaker and serving
  • garnish: lime slice or lime wedge
  1. For the lime sugar salt mixture:
  2. Combine the zest, sugar and salt in a food processor fitted with the metal blade and pulverize until the zest if finely pulverized. Place some of the mixture on a small saucer. Reserve remaining mixture in a covered jar for later use.
  3. For the drink:
  4. Dip glass rim in saucer of water, then dip glass in saucer of lime sugar salt mixture to cover the rim.
  5. Fill cocktail shaker halfway with ice.
  6. Add Chambord, tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and simple syrup to the shaker, cover, and shake for 30 seconds.
  7. Pour into glass with prepared rim.
  8. Garnish with lime slice or wedge.
  9. Enjoy!
